7/6/07: Oh, Glorious What If
What if life doesn't have to be a struggle?
What if you don't have to wake up to go to work to pay the bills to go home to sleep to wake up to go to work to pay the bills to go home to sleep to wake up to go to work to pay the bills?
What if life isn't all about achieving goals, personal, financial and even spiritual?
What if there is more?
What if?
You know there is more. You feel it. You may not know exactly what it is, but you know it's something. It has to be, something. Anything. But not this.
No one can tell you what it is. Even if they knew, they can't tell you in a way that you would know too. You have to discover it for yourself. It is something you come into, wake up to.
Search within. Keep asking questions, of yourself, of God, of others. Don't take anyone's word for anything. Just listen and feel.
What rings true for you? And then ask some more.
Wake up that part of you that has been buried, suppressed, oppressed, ignored and denied. That little spark, that little voice, that little urge within that knows, absolutely, unequivocally without a single iota of doubt, that there is more.
Not more money, not more things, not more health, not even more or better relationships.
But more something.
Listen to that inner urge. Follow it. Release it. Set it free to explore, discover and grow. Stop your petty distractions and listen. While your daily struggles may be of utmost importance to you right now, there is nothing more important than knowing the truth about your existence, about life. Not life as you know it, with all it's struggling and striving and reaching and maintaining, but real life, outside of and beyond the organized, chaotic structure of the system.
But life within the system is hard enough , you say, who has the time or energy? We're just struggling merely to survive.
And so it is for you. Another week, month, year, lifetime. Spent struggling merely to survive.
It doesn't have to be that way. Just ask yourself, “ What if it doesn't have to be that way?”
What if?
And it doesn't. But don't take my word for it. Go and see for yourself. Listen within. Ask the questions and you will find the answers. Just keep asking. And keep listening.
Never stop seeking the truth. You may be surprised as hell to find out what it is, but it really will set you free.
Welcome to the real world.
