7/5/07: Illusions

Some of us settle for the illusion of happiness, rather than happiness itself.

Some settle for the illusion of freedom, rather than freedom itself.

Some settle for the illusion of love, rather than love itself.

Some settle for the illusion of security, rather than security itself.

Some settle for the illusion of power, rather than power itself.

Some of us are so caught up in our illusions, we fail to recognize the real thing when we see it. And if we do recognize it, we shrink away, afraid of losing the illusion we clung on to for so long.

The real thing, the truth, is waiting on the other side of our illusions. We need to break through our illusions, let go and move beyond them in order to live a fully free, fully authentic and empowered life.
