5/15/06: Wanting People The Way We Want

Most of our day to day struggles with our loved ones are due to our unwillingness to accept them for who they are, our wanting them to be the way we want them to be.

We want them to be a certain way (more loving, more attentive, less bossy, less messy, smarter, thinner, etc.) and when they’re not, we become angry, hurt, disappointed or annoyed.

When we honor the way they are, exactly the way they are, and appreciate their pace along their own journey, we find peace within the relationship.
