5/15/05: Forget-Me-Nots

Life takes us on strange twists and turns. We go where it leads us and along our journey, we meet up with others who are going where life is leading them. Some will stay in our lives, some will go and yet others will come and go and come back again, only to leave again, and on and on. Throughout the years as they drop in and out, each meeting brings with it a renewed sense of friendship, yet the friendship was always there. They were always there, in your heart, your soul, your mind.

I call these Soul Friends my Forget-Me-Nots, because they are ever present and I cannot forget them, even when I don’t think about them, even after the passing of many years. As life leads each of us, we go along, learning, growing, experiencing. Every once in a while, life brings us back together and we drop back in and say “hi, how are you doing?”

And the conversation continues as though it had never ended.

Then before you know it, they are gone again. And deep down, you know they are not really gone, they are simply venturing out to learn some more, grow some more and experience some more. They are simply following their life’s path, as are you.

And you send them a silent prayer, for a joyful and exciting adventure filled with love, laughter and divinity, knowing that you will see them again when the time is ripe. When the synchronistic perfection of the Universe organizes that “chance” meeting, yet again, and you smile, knowing your Soul Friend is out there, living, learning, growing and experiencing.
