3/23/07: Purify Experiences
Whether our lives are perceived by us as good or bad, it is still simply life. The moment we start judging it, we disconnect ourselves from it, in mind. We start labeling and categorizing, blaming and praising, hurting and healing, wanting and not wanting, etc.
If we can rid ourselves of judgment, we can enjoy the beauty and magnificence of it no matter what happens. We broaden ourselves to experience and, more importantly, accept anything that comes our way, anything that we create.
Without judgment, we open ourselves up to experience life fully and purely, in all its wonder and glory.
The next time you experience something you label as “good” or “bad,” remove your mind from it. That is, remove your judgment of it. Allow yourself to experience the moment with your soul, not your mind. Just let it sink in, beyond the realm of the mind and all its chatter. Feel the experience in your body.
This is a helpful exercise for those experiencing the loss of a loved one.
You'll find that while it might still hurt or not hurt, you will come to appreciate and accept the experience because you have purified it. By ridding yourself of judgment, you allow yourself to have a pure experience.
And that's what life is all about, pure experiences.
