3/20/07: Busy, Busy, Busy

Many of us are on the go, all day, doing this and that, one thing after another and even multiple things at once.

But what exactly are we doing?

Are we spending our time on things that truly matter to us? Or are we simply filling the time with things that neither expand nor fulfill us.

With all the busy activity we do everyday, do we really accomplish anything of value and meaning?

Staying busy gives us the illusion of being productive, but are we being soulfully productive or merely materially productive?

With each task you do, ask yourself if it is serving your best interest. Is it inspiring you? Is it motivating you? Is it helping you grow? Is it creating joy? Is it expanding your boundaries and enhancing your life?

If you find yourself doing something just to stay busy, to fill the void, to pass time, to feel productive, or any other reason that does not contribute to your core being, stop and find something else to do that does.

Even if it's five minutes of sitting in silence, still and relaxed, contemplating life or having no thought, it may be more productive than an entire week filled with busy activity.
