3/16/06: Putting others down
When you put others down, you are not elevated above them; you are reduced below your own Self.
Putting others down and making others wrong is a sign that you feel small and powerless.
The next time you feel the urge to put someone down, stop and acknowledge that internal feeling of weakness within you. Whether you feel it in the form of pain, fear, anger, helplessness, guilt or shame, if you can truly and honestly acknowledge it, you can change it.
Once you acknowledge it, you can make a different choice.
Putting others down gives your EGO a boost, it gives it a sense of power and control.
Lifting others up gives your SELF, your very soul, a boost, it gives YOU real power and control. Real power and control is not held over anyone else.
Now, the next time you feel the urge to put someone down, try lifting them up instead. You'll find that you'll rise right on up with them.
