3/15/05: Redemption
Whatever you have done in the past, it is never too late to
redeem yourself. If you have wronged someone, acknowledge your
action, claim it by taking full responsibility for it then release
it. Before you can let go of something, you must first possess
it. If you do not acknowledge your actions and take full responsibility
for them, you cannot take the next step of letting go and forgiving
yourself.
If releasing your past wrongdoings
requires an apology to someone else, do it. An apology is not
merely repeating the words, "I'm
sorry." A true apology comes from the gut; it is a feeling
of release, responsibility and repentance followed by redemption
and renewal.
Whether the other person chooses to forgive you or not is irrelevant.
Redemption lies within. It is not granted to you by someone else,
only yourself.
It is never too late to be
the person you wish you were back then or too soon to be the
person you wish you could be now. Redeem
yourself now. Acknowledge and take responsibility for your actions
now. Release yourself from the grip of guilt, regret, blame,
shame and fear now.
