3/11/05: The Elite Inner
Circle
Be careful who you allow into your inner circle. The people
closest to you are the ones who influence you most on a daily
basis. If you are trying to lead a positive, healthy and passionate
life yet are surrounded by negative, fearful and complacent people,
it will be difficult to maintain your path.
Though we each have control over our own emotions and energy,
we are also social creatures. We are easily influenced by society,
by others around us and by what we spend most of our time absorbed
in, no matter how individual we think we are.
You may not realize it, but
spending one hour in someone else’s
fear and negativity, no matter how positive you struggle to remain,
is harmful to you in ways you cannot see.
It is admirable to want to
help others by lifting them up with your positivism, however,
if you are sacrificing your own focus & energy
to do this, there comes a time when you must help yourself. The
best way to help others (and yourself) is to go out and live
the best life you possibly can.
Maintain close guard on your
inner circle, it is often a reflection of who you are. Life
is not a popularity contest. It’s
not about how many friends you have; it’s about the quality
of friends and family. Be a quality person yourself and you will
find that quality people will naturally gravitate toward you
and the others will naturally fall out of your inner circle.
Create a supportive, positive, life-affirming inner circle and
you will uplift yourself as well as others around you.
