3/10/05: Be Kind
When someone is mean to you, be kind. When someone hurts you,
be kind. When someone betrays you, be kind.
No matter what treatment you are given, be kind.
No one else's behavior justifies your own. Regardless of how
hurtful or damaging their behavior is to you, it is not a mirror
upon which you must reflect. Your reactions belong to you and
are in no way controlled by someone else.
I am not saying you must
stand there and take it. I'm simply saying you do not have
to dish it back in return. When
confronted by someone in anger, fear or pain, you can choose
kindness.
Act with dignity in the face of indignity. Be kind.
