3/7/05: Stretching beyond your limits
When life stretches you to the edge of your limits, take one
step further. When you think you absolutely cannot go further
and feel as though you must stop, take one step further.
You never know the heights you are capable of reaching until
you reach beyond your perceived capabilities. Most of us have
set our limits too low. We think we can only do so much. Yet,
when we get to that limit and reach deep within ourselves to
find the strength to go just one step further, we find that our
limits increase.
Draw an imaginary line horizontally
on the floor in front of you. This line is your perceived limit.
Now take one step over
it and draw another line. This is what happens each time we stretch
beyond our perceived limits. Our mind expands and our belief
in our self grows. We create a new perceived limit and redefine
our capabilities. No matter how far or high your next limit becomes,
there is always another one beyond, waiting for you to cross
it. All it takes is just one step further. Then another
and another.
Take one step further. Eventually you'll no longer feel the
need or desire to draw another line in front of you; the path
ahead will be wide open, ready to embrace you.
