1/30/07: Psst, I See You
We spend most
of our time and energy hiding. We hide from others but
mostly from ourselves. We hide behind our masks, our roles
and titles, our judgments and beliefs, our flaws and perfections.
We hide because we are afraid.
Yet deep down,
our soul aches to be seen. It yearns to be recognized and
acknowledged. We hunger for someone to look at us and see
us, to truly see us for who we truly are, beyond all of
our masks.
Give yourself
the gift of acknowledgment. When you start acknowledging
yourself, your true self, others will too.
Practice acknowledging
yourself. Look at yourself in the mirror and say, “I
see you.” Whisper it to yourself throughout the day
to remind yourself of who you are beyond your masks.
And who you are
is a glorious, beautiful and magnificent being, perfect
in all your fullness. You are a radiating, loving and joyful
soul, worthy and significant, unbounded and free.
Tell yourself
this, every day. See yourself in this.
Acknowledge it.
Acknowledge YOU.
