1/25/05: Self-confidence
Self-confidence does not have to be gained over time and with
the accumulation of achievements. Though this is the way most
of us attain it, there is another way.
You can also CLAIM IT. Right here. Right now. Stand up, spine
straight, head forward slightly uplifted. How would it feel if
you were in a state of complete and total confidence right now?
What words come to mind? Power? Strength? Resilience? Warrior?
You need only think the words and the feeling will follow.
Still standing, I want you
to yell, "YES!" Louder. "YES!" Even
LOUDER. "YES!" With authority. "YES!" Yell
it from your gut. "YES!" Yell it with so much conviction
your head vibrates. "YES!"
That, my friends, is instant self-confidence. Anytime you are
feeling scared, unsure, unworthy, stand up and claim your confidence.
If you cannot stand, do it sitting down, but be sure to maintain
your posture. This technique works wonders in your car before
a job interview, an audition, and especially before confronting
someone who intimidates you.
Self-confidence is yours. You already have it. You need only
claim it.
Claim it! YES!
